Sales Development Representative

PayJunction was founded by three UCSB students in 2000 with a vision of making payment processing easier, more secure and more effective. Now we are looking to disrupt the norm of payment processing sales by building an inside sales team, starting with a talented group of sales development reps.  

As a sales development rep, you are responsible for generating new business opportunities for a single account executive through outbound calls and email campaigns. You will be the first point of contact with future clients, a crucial step in forming the long-lasting relationships we strive for.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify high-quality leads through a series of qualifying questions
  • Generate new leads through outbound cold calling
  • Maintain a high call volume of 75-125 cold calls per day
  • Use email marketing to generate leads as well as manage inbound leads
  • Use Salesforce.com to properly note and manage accounts
  • Become an expert on our product and services to effectively demonstrate our value proposition

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed quotas
  • Strong self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced, competitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate via phone and email
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal and presentation
  • "Roll-up-your-sleeves" entrepreneurial attitude
  • Bachelor degree plus minimum 1 year of experience in a sales/marketing role or equivalent

Bonus Points

  • Fluent in a programming language
