Director of Sales

Our Director of Sales will be responsible for leading our Sales team to achieve PayJunction’s growth objectives. This position reports to our President, and is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ready to take their career to the next level.

We are seeking someone with a deep understanding of Software as a Service industry and cross functional sales.  Our ideal candidate will have experience implementing sound organizational practices that will allow us to achieve our maximum revenue goals.  Qualified candidates will have proven leadership skills, a track record of hitting and exceeding their quota, and the ability to train and guide a team to hit its goals.

Our ideal candidate is someone with an extremely high level of integrity.  Other traits we seek are creativity, enthusiasm, a never-say-no attitude to sales and someone who generates momentum in everything they do.  We are building our team and charting our course and looking for someone who has experience leading the adventure.  This job is located on site in our Santa Barbara office.


  • Drive our team’s success penetrating our target markets.
  • Lead our team to successfully achieve revenue goals. 
  • Coach our junior and senior team members to achieve their revenue goals.
  • Proactively review team productivity and adjust and refine goals as needed.
  • Give our team the tools they need to successfully hit their numbers.
  • Identify and implement best practices.
  • Develop team goals and metrics.
  • Regularly review team performance and provide metrics.
  • Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate revenue goals.
  • Independently create sales forecasts and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Manage staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Direct channel development activity.
  • Assign sales territory to sales representatives.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policies.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meet with key clients, assist sales representatives with maintaining relationships.  
  • Coach team on closing deals.
  • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor products and activities.


  • Bachelors in Marketing, Business, Computer Science/Engineering or similar: MBA highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in sales.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Background in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. 
  • The ability to teach and coach junior and senior members of our team in all aspects of sales, including cold calls, demos, and time management.
  • Previous experience coaching team members to successfully achieve their quotas.
  • The ability to cultivate relationships and build culture.
  • Knowledge of the market and the ability to pivot when it changes.
  • The ability to build and maintain morale and remain highly effective at achieving revenue goals.
  • Salesforce expert; HubSpot a plus.
  • SaaS experience.
