Engineering Manager


Are you a computer scientist looking to put your leadership and people skills to use? Are you ready to lead by example and facilitate a senior engineering team with recruitment, deployments, code reviews and testing?

If your answer is yes, PayJunction wants you to join our team of elite, full stack developers as the engineering manager to own the day-to-day oversight of the team. Our engineering team values code quality, security and testing, and we’re looking for a candidate who feels the same. We’ve  developed an efficient and low-stress approach that minimizes bugs and facilitates collaboration, and we’re looking for a manager who can adapt to this process and help it flourish.

This position is located on site in our Santa Barbara, CA , offices.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage, mentor and grow the engineering team
  • Improve and maintain the engineering structure to scale and grow with the values of the company
  • Lead peer code reviews and push code to production
  • Represent PayJunction engineering and management at local and industry events to help grow our brand within the community
  • Act as primary liaison to the recruiting team and lead engineering interviews to help recruit top tier software engineers
  • Communicate across teams and stakeholders to drive engineering efforts


Desired qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Web application development experience in Java, JavaScript and AngularJS
  • Comfortable working in Linux Ubuntu
  • Passion for automation and test-driven development
  • Understand the importance of writing readable, quality code
  • 2+ years management experience
