Junior Business Analyst


As a kid did you use Excel to graph your gift wish list as a prioritized pie chart?  When watching the latest thriller, do you call out the impending plot twist 10 minutes into the film? Do you complete expert-level sudoku with ease? Do you deal in basis points? Do you have a background in accounting, finance, mortgage lending, insurance underwriting or a similar expertise?

If you are nodding your head yes, then PayJunction wants you as our next risk analyst! In this role, you will onboard new clients by analyzing their risk factors, maintain existing accounts to ensure our our merchants continue to process payments with ease, and uphold PayJunction's ethical, secure, and risk-minimizing standards.  

As a new member of our risk team, you will undergo extensive training to become an expert in our industry and services. Experience in the financial services, payment processing or computer software industries is not required; however, critical thinking skills to accurately identify risk scenarios are a must. 

This is a full-time, in-house position at our headquarters in sunny Santa Barbara, CA! 


  • Determine credit worthiness by analyzing:
    • Bank statements
    • Balance sheets
    • Profit and loss
    • Cash Flow
    • Tax statements
    • Prior Merchant processing statements & ROI's
  • Screen accounts against security fraud checklist
  • Work alongside partner banking institutions to review account financial integrity
  • Escalate high risk exceptions to executive board
  • Provide assistance with account maintenance including limits and checking accounts
  • Report regular status updates to the account executives, project team leads and regional managers


Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in mathematics, economics or finance
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of balance sheets, profit & loss, and bank statements
  • QuickBooks knowledge is a bonus
  • Must demonstrate unwavering critical thinking and analytical approach
  • Must be cautious and risk-aware
